Item 3: Notes of last meeting and matters arising

Item 4 – Teenage Pregnancy - Update
- Within Children’s centres Teen pregnancies is part of their core offer.
- BOAT – Better Outcomes for All - Fairfield in Droylsden to be rolled out – dealing not only with teen parents but other vulnerable groups.
- In the initial BOAT group there were 15 teen parents – out of the initial cohort 8/9 attended regular groups.
- 1 person has gone on to FE
- 2 or three gone on the be mentors
- 1 did have a second baby, but improvements noticed surrounding attachment etc.
- At present BOAT team looking at outcomes/achievements for the roll out.
Item 5 – Report cards Children and young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities are helped to enjoy and achieve. Portage service.
- There has been a key decision from the council/PCT to progress onto a fully integrated service
- PCT to deliver level 4/5
- Budget to be aligned
- Single point of referral for children with 2 or more involvements
- There is to be a lead professional working on a care pathway with a multidisciplinary team
- Aim to promote service to parents towards the end of June
- Joint targets with schools
- 3 priorities
- Access & empowerment
- Responsive services and timely support
- Improving quality and capacity
- Report goes to DCFS every 8 weeks
- Detailed plan of provision and improvements made
- Increase the number of families taking short breaks by 70% by end of 2011
- Initiatives for maintaining/improving trend
- New build for residential respite – on Astley/Cromwell site
- Offer a range of community based support to held disabled children access mainstream sport/leisure
- Increase the range of domiciliary support for families in their own homes i.e Night Sitting
- Recruit new family link care workers – foster families to offer day/night care – may be rolling programme of care – several children cared for on rotational basis
- Provide clear information on services
Item 6 - EA3 reports on 50% of schools to be assessed on the Inclusive Schools Award by 2010

Item 7 - Update on CYPP Improvement Action Plan 2009/10
- Plan not yet finalised
- No firm decisions re Outcome Theme Groups
- Need to look how we are working to the 6 priorities
- Within Enjoy and Achieve section there are some changes to key targets
