A book charting the history of Ashton Market up to the reopening last November, was launched last weekend.

Local historians Philip and David Williams have revised and completely updated their popular book “To Market, To Market” to include the story of the market’s new start following the devastation of the 2004 fire.

And finally, Hyde District Assembly has organised a free lunchtime concert at 1.00pm on Friday 3rd July at Hyde Town Hall. World class pianist Jonathan French, who grew up in Hyde, is paying tribute to his roots by returning to perform the recital.
