A new campaign to promote the early detection of breast cancer is being piloted in Tameside by the council and local health trust.
Breast cancer is the most common cause of death from cancer amongst women in the borough and across the UK but, if it is caught early, treatment is easier and more effective.
Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting Canon Burrows Primary School in Ashton on Thursday 4th February.
The visit will recognise the pupils’ pioneering work to help the environment, including their recent success in winning a national ‘Wipe Out waste’ competition where they designed an innovative pencil holder to avoid throwing away half-used pencils.
That’s all for now, see you next week.
