Hello and welcome to Tameside 60 Second News, I’m Elainna Wickens.

Council staff who deal with nuisance mini motorbikes and underage alcohol sales are featured in ITV's The Consumer Police. You can catch the show on Thursdays on ITV at 10:40pm the programme will run for five weeks.

Carers can’t afford to be ill, thats the message at the heart of carers week taking place in the borough next week. The council has organised sessions to help carers feel and stay well. to find out more just call Tameside Carers Centre on 342 3344 or visit the council's website.

Want to take a look at how Ashton Market is coming back to life? Well, now you can. The council has installed web cameras that allow people to watch the famous market’s refurbishment after a devastating fire.  Just visit www.tameside.gov.uk/webcams.

Anyone who has children will know that getting them to eat five a day is a challenge. Well, now students from Egerton Park Arts College, Denton have designed fun ways to eat healthily. It’s part of Tameside and Glossop PCT's Health for Life Festival which runs from the 9th to the 12th June.

And finally, a senior army officer whose battalion has just returned from Iraq has presented a unique gift to Tameside’s Mayor. Lieutenant Colonel Gary Deakin commanding officer of the first battalion the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment gave Councillor Jack Davis a framed photograph taken of his force before they went to the war zone.
