ECDL Level 1 and 2 Qualification - European Computer Driving Licence

36 weeks - ½ day (3 hours) per week

Entry Requirements

CLAiT 2006 or a good working knowledge of applications/entry assessment

Main Objectives

ECDL is an internationally recognised qualification that enables people to develop and demonstrate their competence in computer skills. It is designed to cover the key concepts of computing, their practical application and their use in the workplace and society

To obtain the ECDL Qualification you are required to complete the following modules and take an assessment on each.

Part 1:

  • Basic Concepts of Information Technology.
  • Using the Computer and Managing Files.
  • Information and Communication. (Internet)

Part 2:

  • Word Processing
  • Spreadsheets
  • Database
  • Presentation
  • Using IT (optional to give a level 2 certificate)

Materials Required

All learning materials provided.

Assessment Methods

Learners are required to take an assessment for each unit.

Possible Progression Routes

Allows progression to ECDL Advanced or employment.
