Who are we?
Tameside Council Adult Learning is part of the Services for Children & Young People. Our aim is to enable all adults in Tameside to return to and achieve success in learning, so as to improve their quality of life through personal enrichment activities and enhance employment skills.
What do we do?
We provide courses in 3 specific areas: Information Technology, Skills for Life and Independent Living Skills for adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. We offer confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance to all learners and potential learners from Tameside and surrounding areas. The ranges of services we offer are:
- Advice on CV preparation and applying for jobs
- Information on funding
- Information on courses available
- Match courses to your needs
- Help you identify what you want to learn
- Opportunities for you to develop your maths and English skills
- Support and guidance during your learning
- Regular updates on your progress
- Information on further learning
What can you expect from us?
Professional and experienced staff who will treat you with respect and be available to assist you wherever possible. We work to national quality and awarding body standards and treat any information you give us with discretion and confidentiality, and in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.
How can you help us to improve the service?
We always welcome suggestions for improvement and will provide you with confidential feedback questionnaires at specific points in your training. We also welcome complaints and you can make a complaint by speaking to a member of staff, contacting the Quality Manager or you can use the website www.tameside.gov.uk/complaints
