Arts Award Support Tameside

Local authorities are key partners in promoting Arts Award  at local level, Tameside does this in a number of ways:

Arts Award supporting individual creative development and working with young people of all interests, ages and abilities, in schools, youth projects, care settings and community programmes. By using Arts Award as a powerful tool for social inclusion allowing young people to develop personal skills for further education and employment, thereby contributing to the local Every Child Matters agenda.

Specifically we:

• organise ‘in-house’ training for staff, other professionals and community co-ordinators.
• including Arts Awards within targets for young people’s accreditation.
• incorporating support for the Arts Award within funding agreements with arts organisations.

Tameside is also an Arts Award Supporter organisation which enables us to offer support for Children and Young People across all of our cultural services. This is an area of the programme we intend to develop further in the coming months.
