How can I request a blue bin?
The blue bin scheme now covers all areas of Tameside. If the scheme is in your area but you have not yet received a bin, or if you wish to register your interest in joining the scheme, please complete the Blue Bins Online Form.
When is my next collection?
Collections take place Tuesday to Friday, dates are available here or are listed on the sticker on your blue bin. Please contact us if you require a new sticker. Please present your blue bin by 7.15 a.m. on the morning of your collection.
What happens to the paper after it has been collected?
Over 4000 tonnes of paper are collected each year. The money from the sale of the paper has been reinvested in the scheme in order that it can expand. In the future any profits will be used for other recycling or environmental schemes. The paper is recycled and becomes newsprint. In theory your bin full of paper could be collected by us and within 48 hours could be several newspapers on sale.
