Extension of Charges for Blue Badge Holders on Tameside Pay and Display car parks

Following a consultation earlier this year proposals to introduce charges on Council pay and display car parks are to be introduced from 16 January 2012

 As from 16 January 2012 standard charges will apply on all Tameside pay and display car parks for blue badge holders. The Council have however identified that disabled blue badge holders may need longer to conduct their business and in order to accommodate this an additional hour will be given following the purchase of a pay and display ticket.

Purchase your ticket on arrival at the car park and display with your blue badge alongside with the wheelchair symbol facing upwards. An hours grace will be given following the departure time on your pay and display ticket, for example, purchase an hour pay and display ticket and an additional hour will be given following the expiry time providing a valid blue badge is displayed in the correct manner.

As part of the Tameside Works First programme, everyone can currently park free of charge after 3pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from April 2nd 2009. This applies until further notice. (If you park before 3pm on Thursday, Friday or Saturday you still need to ensure that your stay is covered by tickets etc until 3pm).
