Ashton Community Chess Club Increase membership to 25 to maintain interest and competition internally. Publicise the Club throughout Tameside both via the internet and through the mail to all schools. Ashton Operatic Society An amateur production of the musical continuing a long term tradition of providing recreational activities for all age groups within the Community by giving them the opportunity to work together and gain valuable theatre experience through a variety of roles acting and non acting. Rehearsals covering libretto, singing, dancing and stage work culminating in a week long run of performances keeping alive a valuable part of the areas cultural knowledge. £1,800

Funding for trips for the Mens Group and Womens Sewing Group and their families for a day out as some have never had a holiday. Friends of Cedar Park Funday to be held in Cedar Park. Fun days have been previously held working with voluntary and statutory partners. Funding would provide activities on the day. The Fun day will have stalls and activities from Police, Fire Brigade, Sports and Youth Services, New Charter, Scouts, Bowlers regeneration and works solutions etc. This will enable the whole community to take part in the event. £270
Friends of Oxford Park Portable PA system for a member of the group that has volunteered their services as compare to provide entertainment for local people mainly 55+ from the Pavillion and also in the local EPH for those who are not mobile The compare will engage local residents to participate in sing a longs bingo and dancing. This will encourage more people to socialise get more active and help towards a healthy happier lifestyle. £900
Hurst Community Centre To carry out a feasibility study to have a disabled lift fitted at Hurst Community Centre. A lot more older people are using the Community Centre and they cannot get up the stairs to the lounge. £450

King George Bowling and Social Club Due to the large number of members the purchase of another pool table is desired so that pool tournaments can take place. One table is not large enough for the amount of members who want to play. The table is used every day and pool is the most popular activity. £600

St John the Evangelist (Hurst) There is a room and a kitchen at the rear of the Church used 7 days a week by the Community. The room requires refurbishment and a new floor to enable other users to benefit. £2,750
St Peter's Men Drop in To plan deliver and evaluate an outing to Eureka - Halifax for whole families of St Peters and Go Ape - Delamere Forrest for dads/carers of St Peters. £250
St Peter's Youth (SPY) The Project in partnership with GM Police aims to keep young people away from crime and anti social behaviour. The funding will build a climbing wall in Oxford Park on the side of a container 20ft x 8ft high with bolt on holds and safety mats. The container will also offer a bike project where young people spy and the Police will work together to repair and recycle bikes that were lost or stolen. £900
Shree Bharatiya Mandal Indian Association Tameside The Hindu Festival of Diwali is a major annual event a Diwali steering group made up of TMBC and local community members organise a festival light switch on ceremony in Ashton Town Hall with entertainment food and cultural activities. The event has a gathering of over 1200 people. Funding is required to install decorative lighting at the Indian Community Centre and facilitate the making of lanterns and banners used by the public and the participants during a parade from to the Town Hall. £450
The Methodist Community Hall In order to be a good neighbour and to help Tameside achieve its Community Strategy the Stamford Street Methodist Hall offers user groups a healthy supportive education and safe environment to enjoy. Funding is required to equip the Hall with a good standard of 75 comfortable stackable chairs 12 work tables and 2 trolleys for the use of 16 user groups. £3,500
Yogi Fitness Group Members have very long term physical, mental illness , heart conditions etc the targeted groups are expected to benefit by specific cardiac and pulmonary specialist trainer supplemented by Yoga for body mind and soul. £1,950
Young Asians Recreation Club To encourage Mothers and Daughters to participate in both aerobic sessions (1 hr) and Bollywood Dancing Sessions (1hr) currently sessions for Asian women are limited. £450

Colliery Fields Allotment Association A large Greenhouse has been donated to the organisation 1st St Lawrence Scout group have been offered full use of the greenhouse. A large amount of stone in the main car park needs to be laid to allow 1st St Lawrence safe access to the allotment plot and greenhouse. A large amount of stone is required to enable a disabled plot holder to be able to get to his plot. There are a small number of water points on the allotments that have been vandalised and need repairing and bricks built round them. £1,600
Denton and Audenshaw Carnival Association Carnival Parade through Denton including Bands, Floats, Rose Queens, Dancing Groups, Majorettes, Local Societies and Childrens Groups Horses and vehicles. Entertainment in Victoria Park. Funfair and Rides. £2,500

Girl Guiding Denton District Senior Section 2010 is girl guiding Centenary year Girl Guiding UK is encouraging all Senior Section Members to have an Ultimate Adventure. Members have decided they would like a trip to London to visit the Crystal Palace Maze at the Site of the Scout Rally where in 1910 girls first made their interest in the Organisation known. They hope to stay at Pax Lodge one of the girl guide world training Centres. Members would also like to sail as part of adventure 100 challenge a series of points based challenges across 10 themes Hollingworth Lake have been contacted regarding this. A new copy of the Guiding Manual is also required in addition to new copies of the Senior Section Look wider Programme and me in mind. Additionally sweatshirts which are Unit branded which would assist those from families on low incomes. £750
Girl Guiding UK Belle Vue Division 2010 is girl guiding Centenary year a small number of girls are taking part in national events the Centenary Finale is known as Vision which are locally organised events The aim of vision is to bring all members of girl guiding together to share one moment in time. The local event will take place in Victoria Park Denton in the form of an outdoor concert which will include a Dance Troop Samba Band and tribute act as well as an internet link to the 2010 broadcast from Oxford. £986
Green Park Community Centre The building needs registration of the Lease at HM Land Registry and Inland Revenue Taxes. The Community use the building for various activities. Disabled people would benefit from a good pathway around the building. £2,075
Guide Bridge Theatre Ltd There is a need to improve the fabric of the building and its facilities to support ambitions to broaden the role in the local Community and to provide theatre space and amenities that respond to building users. Guide Bridge theatre has to meet the legislative requirements outlined in the DDA to make reasonable adjustments to address the needs of disabled users. The priority is to install a disabled toilet. The Theatre needs to Improve Access and building facilities to support wider engagement and community use to ensure inclusion. £3,250

Muck and Cook A newly formed group comprising mucky diggers gardening group and the cooking club. The children needed to have fun gardening and cooking and learn where food comes from so the school decided to grow their own food to use in classes and wider community. £500
Opt-in A drama Group for people who have experienced Mental and emotional distress. The Project would involve working with the Royal Exchange. £1,000
St Lawrence Church Denton Structural repair to parts of the Grade II listed church building which dates back to 1531 and is one of only 29 Timber Framed medieval churches to survive in England and Wales. £1,000
Tameside South District Scouts Samba Band To increase the recreational facilities within the area and increase the membership. To ensure there are enough instruments for all the young people which will be usable for many years. £200
The Yew Tree and Pendle Road Residents Group A Community Café which incorporates dance to improve relationships in the community of Yew Tree and Pendle Road Estate. The project will include a Christmas dance for all participants. £1,300
Townswomen's Guild (Denton Branch) Women over 18 years come together for social and educational purposes. Funding is required for room hire and speakers on a variety of subjects. £750

Tameside Action for Social Communication and Autism Support A parent led support group that supports families and carers of children who have autism and social communication difficulties. The Project will help provide a cheap and accessible opportunity for children to enjoy social events such as zoo trips. £1,820
Wooden Canal Boat Society Ltd The boat Southam is used to tow our other historic boats during our twice monthly recycling trips to Droylsden, working parties and overnight stays. In addition it provides facilities for volunteers who are helping maintain our boats at Portland Basin. £1,911

The current male and female toilets are on separate floors and in a poor state. They will be relocated to the ground floor with disabled facilities added. The plan include showers so that overnight accommodation can be offered. The hot water boiler will be replaced by a more modern, energy efficient one and new radiators added. £4,000
Mossley Twinning Committee To organise an international arts and music festival based on existing cultural exchange of the Mossley Twinning Committee and two other European Towns; Hern in France and Wiehl in Germany. £2,500
Mossley Woodcraft Folk Youth Group Holiday Project for secondary aged young people who will design and make a piece of environmental public art. £2,300

Tameside Senior Netball Club As an established Club Services would be offered to less advantaged people and school leavers who are interested in continuing sport or taking up a new interest. £542
The Peoples Gallery The peoples Gallery is a local Artists Cooperative run by volunteers and provides exhibition space for amateur and professional artists to display and sell their work. Updated facilities would assist to provide a better working environment and update the surroundings. £1,226
Trinity Christian School To improve the front of the school and landscape and make safe the front area of the school in order to create a new play area for pupils. £3,000
West Hill School The Under 14 - 15's are heading to Sri Lanka the tour will consist of different experience to aid pupils by improving their cricketing abilities and highlight their responsibilities as upstanding Citizens. There is a pupil that cannot afford to go on the tour funding is sought for this pupil. £1,000

St John the Evangelist Church (Hurst) The church currently users an old mini bus donated by GMPTE to convey local residents to luncheon clubs, church services, social outings. The bus is used 6 days a week and is staffed by volunteers. Funds are raised through donations and social activities and is heavily subsidised by the congregation. It costs approx £2500 per annum to maintain and insure. This bid will help meet these costs whilst funds are raised for a new bus. £1,500
Young at Heart Providing activities including exercise and line dancing classes to promote fitness, educational trips and talks, and  activities including bingo and curling. £1,000
Kamiza Dojo Developing a syllabus for training younger children aged 4 to 6 towards a martial arts program. The aim is to teach a certain level of discipline to mind and body in a proactive environment based on the foundations of Ju Jitsu as a defensive martial art. The children will be taught to have respect for themselves and one another and to work to their abilities. This will be done in a fun way that will compliment the modern curriculum of local schools. £500
Ashton & District Probus Club Providing a wireless roving microphone to upgrade the loop system used for our speakers and members at our meetings and social events. £288
Greenscape Limited In St Peter's, residents had emphasised their wish for a small green space in the heart of the community and so were involved in the design concept for permanent artworks within the green. Funding will provide equipment for planting projects with the local residents, resurfacing the playground area, making small repairs to the boundary fencing, installing picnic benches and introducing a community notice board. £3,000
Age Concern Tameside Age Concern Tameside Freedom of Movement service works to help older people in Tameside stay active as possible, by participating in a range of exercise and movement classes. Due to increasing demand we will offer a moderate movement class from our building on Katherine Street. We will also pay for our worker to train as a tai chi instructor and purchase additional equipment such as bean bags to enhance the classes already offered. £225
Pioneer Gardeners Tenant Involvement Project (PG Tips) The bid will fund the planting of a huge natural swath of spring bulbs along the pioneer homes boundary complimenting the Tameside in bloom ring o' bells seating area. £2,500
