Quality Premium Rate
The quality premium rate is awarded to Care Homes in Tameside who meet the qualifying criteria (outlined below). It is completely optional and entirely up to the discretion of the Home as to whether it wishes to apply or not. Rooms qualifying for Quality Premium are classed as single occupancy.
However: -
From 1st April 2009
- £7 for all rooms over 12sq metres (does not have to be en suite).
- £25.00 increase in the base fee rates for rooms of the qualifying size that have en suite facilities.
- (En suite must consist of a toilet and a washbasin as minimum).
The above increases are applicable to all Homes regardless of whether other quality premium criteria are met.
Quality Premium
- applicable from 1st April 2009 and will be payable on rooms of the qualifying size (10sm).
- paid at three levels:
- £16.00
- £26.00
- £40.00
There will be two opportunities each year for qualifying assessment at 1st April and 1st October. After 12 months Homes wishing to retain the premium must submit evidence to establish payment for a further year.
- staff will need the NVQ qualifications specified or an equivalent qualification. Care Staff of long standing - a minimum of 5 years (recent experience) in residential care who have the NVQ assessor's qualification will count as equivalent.
