Additional Information on Notes for Applicants
NCONT1 - The responsibility to properly address contaminated land issues, including safe development and secure occupancy, and irrespective of any involvement by this Authority, lies with the owner/developer of the site. The applicant/developer is requested to contact the Council's Environmental Protection Unit (Tel: 0161 342 2691) as soon as is practicable should contamination be encountered during the development of the site. |
NCONT1 is a standard note for applicant added to all developments checked by the Environmental Protection Unit for contamination issues, which do not require conditions or other note for applicants. Its sole aim is to make owners and developers aware of their responsibility to address contaminated land issues during development. During the normal course of development generally the Council would not expect contamination issues to arise in relation to these developments.
