Birth Certificates
We can only supply certificates for births that occurred in the Tameside area.
Standard birth certificates contain all the details entered in the register and cost £7.00.
Short birth certificates contain the full name, date of birth and registration district and cost £5.50
If the certificate(s) you require are from a register in current use, the cost is reduced to £3.50.
Please use the online form if you wish to request a copy Birth Certificate - you must supply as much information as possible - Register Office staff cannot undertake protracted searches through records. A "GRO" reference alone (eg. Ashton 8D), is not sufficient to obtain a certificate.
Once Register Office staff confirm your certificate has been located and confirm the amount you need to pay, you can pay on-line with a credit card, or alternatively, post a cheque payable to TMBC to the address below, quoting the reference number(s) and enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.
Marriage Certificates
We can only supply certificates for marriages that occurred in the Tameside area. Standard marriage certificates contain all the details entered in the register.
Please use the on-line form if you wish to request a copy Marriage Certificate - you must supply as much information as possible. Register Office staff cannot undertake protracted searches through records. A "GRO" reference alone (eg. Ashton 8D), is not sufficient to obtain a certificate.
Once Register Office staff confirm your certificate has been located and confirm the amount you need to pay, you can pay on-line with a credit card, or alternatively, post a cheque payable to TMBC to the address below.

to ensure you have all of the information required to complete the online form.
