Concessionary Passes for Over 60’s and Disabled Pass Holders
New National Scheme from 1st April 2008
The National travel concession scheme for bus travel will be revised on 1st April 2008. The concession will change from a local to a national entitlement.
The over 60’s and most disabled pass holders will be entitled to free local bus travel anywhere in England from 9.30am to 11.00pm Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on bank Holidays
Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) are writing to all existing pass-holders asking them to confirm their details and provide a photograph for the new pass. This will be completed by March 2008.
The existing bus pass is valid until April 2008 and you should continue to use it as you are currently until that date.
GMPTE have requested that the Local Authority stop issuing bus passes from 1st December 2007. From that date they will all be issued from GMPTE Travel Shops.
