Councillor Susan Quinn

Cllr Susan Quinn, The Civic Mayor of TamesideCouncillor Susan Quinn was elected to Tameside Council to represent Droylsden East Ward in May 1999.

Councillor Quinn has been married to Councillor Kieran Quinn, the Executive Leader of Tameside Council, for eighteen years and they have two sons.

Councillor Quinn was born in Prescot, Liverpool in 1959 and is the eldest of six children, she has lived in Tameside for 22 years.

Councillor Quinn is an Assistant Executive Member of Tameside Council, supporting the Deputy Executive Leader and the Executive Member for Children and Families.

Councillor Quinn is a Member of Speaker’s Panel for both Liquor Licensing and Employment Appeals.

Councillor Quinn is also a Member of the Droylsden District Assembly.

Councillor Quinn represents the Council on the Boards of Better Choices and the North West Employers Group.

Councillor Quinn was Deputy Mayor of Tameside in 2009/10.

Councillor Quinn hopes to meet as many community groups as possible during her year in office and is particularly looking forward to visiting local businesses and promoting the Borough of Tameside.

Councillor Quinn has chosen to support two local charities during her Mayoral year, Willow Wood Hospice and Our Kid’s Eyes.

Councillor Quinn enjoys walking, reading and spending time with her family.

Councillor Quinn will be supported during her Mayoral year by her husband and Mayoral Consort, Councillor Kieran Quinn. Councillor Joe Kitchen and his wife Shirley will undertake the duties of Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress.
