Welcome to the Council's Planning and Building Control Service
Tameside ranges from the inner city area of Droylsden in the west to the foothills where the Pennines meet the Peak District in the east. Within its boundaries the borough encompasses the famed mill towns of Ashton, Audenshaw, Dukinfield, Hyde and Mossley as well as the rural villages in Longdendale. Each settlement has it's own characteristic which are distinct and diverse from the others.
In providing a planning service, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council aims to create the conditions to attract continued inward investment into the borough whilst preserving and enhancing the best of both the built and natural environment.
*NB - From March 1st 2009 the Developer Contribution Tariff Rates have been increased in line with inflation from National Construction Indexes at 4.39%.*
