Planning
Welcome to the Council's Town Planning service. The service is split into two service units, Strategic Planning and Development Control.
Strategic Planning is responsible for the Local Development Framework, the Tameside Unitary Development Plan, Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings, Regeneration, Trees and Woodlands, and Local Agenda 21 matters
Development Control is responsible for the processing of planning applications and handles enquiries as to the need for planning permission. The unit also deals with breaches of planning control.

New Land Developments
See what planning approvals have been granted but which have not started. You may be able to find the site you are looking for by approaching an applicant.

We also keep a list of retail developments for information purposes. This is intended to provide information on large stores within and outside town centres.
