Roadworks Update

The following roadworks are underway/programmed to begin shortly within the borough. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience these works may cause you.

• Mellor Road - Ashton-under-Lyne
  Temporary road closure due to building works at Tameside Hospital. From 9th April 2009 for 12 months. Diversions in place. 
• Twirl Hill Road - Ashton 
  Temporary one-way closure due to major construction works. From 2nd October 2008 to 24th October 2010. Diversions in place. 
• Scott Road/ Cemetery Road/ Shelley Grove/ Sunnybank Road - Droylsden
  Temporary 7.5 tonne weight limit due to Metro link scheme works. From 9th February 2009 for 18 months. Diversions in place. 
• Stamford Street West - Ashton
  Temporary waiting restrictions closure due to construction works. From 9th March 2009 for 18 months. Diversions in place. 
• Huddersfield Road - Mossley
  Temporary road closure due to construction works at Mossley Hollins School. From 21st May 2009 for 18 months Diversions in place.
• Fleet Street - Ashton
  Temporary road closure due to building works. From 11th June 2009 for 11 months. Diversions in place. 
• Corporation Street - Stalybridge
  Temporary road closure due to building works. From 17th September 2009 for 12 months. Diversions in place
• Tennyson Avenue - Dukinfield
  Temporary road closure due to sewer upgrade works. From 12th October 2009 for 6 months. Diversions in place. 
• Rivermead Road - Denton
  Footway refurbishment
• Yew Tree Lane/ Laycock Avenue - Dukinfield
  Temporary road closure due to sewer improvement works. From 2nd November 2009 for 6 months. Diversions in place.
• Sunnybank Road - Droylsden
  Temporary road closure due to Metrolink scheme works. From 30th November 2009 for 4 months. Diversions in place.
• Scott Road - Denton
  Temporary road closure due to sewer upgrade works. From 11th January 2010 for 16 weeks. Diversions in place. 
• Edge Lane - Droylsden
  Temporary road closure due to Metrolink scheme works. From 2nd February 2010 for 2 weeks. Diversions in place.
• Throstle Bank Street - Hyde
  Temporary road closure due to electric works. From 1st February 2010 for 4 days. Diversions in place. Temporary traffic lights will follow the road closure until the 12th February 2010.
• Clegg Street - Droylsden
  Temporary road closure from junctions Manchester Road to Kershaw Street due to Metrolink works. From 8th February 2010 for 6 weeks. Diversions in place.
• Canal Street/ Craven Street - Droylsden
  Temporary one-way restriction due to Metrolink works. From 4th February 2010 for 18 months.
• Wakefield Road/ Manchester Road - Stalybridge
  Temporary 4-way traffic lights on Blackrock Bridge. From 8th February 2010 for 6 weeks during peak times.
• Stamford Road - Audenshaw
  Carriageway resurfacing, from Hobson Crescent to Oakwood Avenue.
• Lumb Lane - Droylsden
  Carriageway resurfacing, from Littlemoss Road to Hyde Street.
• Moorside Street - Droylsden
  Footway repairs, from Thornhill Road to St Johns Avenue. From 15th February 2010 to 19th February 2010.
• Lumb Lane - Droylsden
  Temporary road closure due to carriageway resurfacing works. From 15th February 2010 for 5 days. Road will be closed from 9.30am to 16.00pm. Diversions in place.
• Fairfield Road - Droylsden
  Temporary traffic lights, from Edge Lane to Ashton Hill Lane. From 8th February 2010 for 12 weeks. Lights will be manually controlled during peak times.
• Huddersfield Road - Stalybridge
  Temporary traffic lights outside St Pauls School. From 15th February 2010 to 19th February 2010. Lights will be manually controlled during peak times.
• Stamford Road/ Corporation Road - Audenshaw
  Temporary road closure due to carriageway resurfacing works. From 13th February 2010 to 21st February 2010 (weekends only). Diversions in place.
