What day is my dustbin emptied?
You can use our Online Database to see the Bin Collection Days.
What happens to collections on Bank Holiday Mondays?
The domestic collection crews work the Bank Holidays so there is no change to the service. Please ensure your bin is presented for collection by 7.00am. Parked cars can cause access issues during the holiday periods so please park considerately.
Why has my dustbin not been emptied today?
If your bin was out before 7.00 am and there was no obstruction or access problems for the dustbin wagon, then we will arrange for your bin to be emptied. If you have any reports you can use our Domestic Refuse Online Form.
My bin is missing/damaged - how can I request a new one?
If you have previously had a dustbin at your property but it is now missing or damaged, you can request one by contacting Environmental Services on 0161 342 8355 or you can report it using our Domestic Refuse Online Form. There is no charge for this service.
How can I request a new dustbin, I have just moved into a newly built property?
If you have moved into a newly built property there is a charge of £35 for a new dustbin and service. You can request a new bin and make your payment by credit card online. If you do not wish to pay by credit card you can contact Environmental Services on 0161 342 8355. When you make a payment your bin will be ordered and delivered within 10 working days.
How can I request a pull out and return service?
If you have difficulty taking your bin to the kerb side, then we can arrange for the dustbin men to pull your bin out and return it back to its location. In order to receive this service you will be assessed by our Environmental Services Officer to the extent of your difficulty. Please fill in the Domestic Refuse Online Form.
How many sacks can I put out for collection?
If you are still on a sack collection it is due to the location of your property i.e. inaccessible, steps etc. You will normally be left 2 sacks per week. We will collect up to a maximum of 4 standard domestic sacks from the properties qualifying for a sack collection. 4 sacks of refuse is approximately the equivalent to a standard size wheeled bin, which are supplied to properties in Tameside. We have available, a list of our recycling sites.
