Participation at District Assemblies
Member of Droylsden District Assembly with responsibility for environmental issues. Meetings have been held at various venues within the two Droylsden Wards. We have taken the core meetings up to our senior schools and we have co-opted three senior students onto the Panel.
Participation on Outside Bodies and Partnerships
Representative on the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Authority serving on the Personnel Committee and Policy Committee.
Member of Environmental Commission - City Region
Constituency Work
At present dealing with problems caused by youths causing annoyance, which is on-going.
Attended regular meetings with Metrolink to alleviate public problems with construction work
Members Advice Surgeries
Hold three advice surgeries each month at different venues and have taken up many issues in the year from contact with constituents.
Training and Development
Attended seminars for Tameside and Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Authority throughout the year.
Achievements during the Year
Prime Youth Club set up in the Concord Suite.
Achieved a new play area at the Floral Gardens, Cemetery Road. New play equipment to go in on Sunnyside Park.
Helped many local bodies with finances from District Assembly monies.
A great achievement for the local Labour Party winning the Droylsden West Ward in the local Elections with a majority of over 2,000 votes, looking forward to the 2011 local elections.
