Annual Report of Activities 2008/09

Participation at Council Meetings and Panels

Member of Technical, Economic and Environmental Services Scrutiny Panel; Personal and Health Services Scrutiny Panel; Denton and Audenshaw District Assembly.

Participation at District Assemblies

I have attended all District Assembly meetings during the year and am the Lead Member for Youth Issues.

Participation on Outside Bodies and Partnerships

Member of Ryecroft Hall Management Team
Chair of the Time of your Life Club
Attend TOPAG, Older Peoples Provider Forum; Stanhope Area Partnership and local Pact meetings.

Constituency Work

I have dealt with constituents by telephone, e-mail and personal home visits. I have worked with various agencies including the Police, Officers from New Charter Housing Trust, Youth Workers and various officers from the Council.

Members Advice Surgeries

I hold monthly Advice Surgeries on a monthly basis at Ryecroft Hall and Audenshaw Community Centre.

Achievements during the Year

I have raised £1,000 to set up a youth disco for young people in Denton and Audenshaw which has proved very successful.
Provided funds for Hawthorn Community School to get animals for the children which is very therapeutic.

Development of the plot of land next to the allotments for the school children to teach healthy eating and build up relationships within the community.

Together with my Ward colleagues we have established more Homewatch Schemes, provided CCTV and alleygating schemes.

Still working on the long standing issue regarding flies at Audenshaw Reservoir.

Completing the resurfacing of North Road.

Working with various agencies to provide more facilities for young people.

Making Audenshaw a safer and better place to live.
