Along with my fellow Ward Councillors, I continue to support the residents in Denton North East, dealing with various issues such as complaints, problems and enquiries regarding Council matters. I will continue to campaign for various issues of concern and of benefit to Denton.

I attend local Homewatch Committees on a regular basis and also regular meetings in my role as Chair of the Denton Aged Persons Committee.

Following the impressive construction work around the Crown Point development that brought 100’s of jobs to Denton and provided more modern shopping facilities, I now look forward to seeing the new Civic Square in Denton completed, which I am sure will make a significant improvement to the town centre environment.

Young people are our future and I have supported many local youth groups in Denton, including the Denton and Audenshaw Boy Scouts and Girl's Brigades, Girl Guiding UK Greater Manchester specifically for guides in the Tameside area, local cricket clubs and football teams.

Members' Advice Surgeries

I hold regular surgeries with my Ward colleagues and deal with many enquiries from constituents, including problems regarding, housing, social services, education, street lighting, highways issues, refuse and environmental health issues.

Training and Development

I have attended various training sessions for Elected Members throughout the year.

 Achievements during the Year

• Attended various functions with the Executive Leader, representing the Council, and deputise as and when required.
• Attended regular meetings with the Executive Leader involving Cabinet Deputies and Secretaries, Chairs of Panels, other Elected Members, both individually and collectively, and Officers of the Council.
• Actively campaigned for the construction of the new Civic Square in Denton
• Arrange and permit attendance of Elected members and Officers at conferences and seminars that are outside the Standing List of Conferences approved at Annual Council
• Chaired the Annual Pensioners Forum at New Century House in Manchester.
• Attended regular meetings regarding glass recycling.
