Achievements during the Year
- I am still on a learning curve being a relatively new member (under two years) and believe there is still a vast amount of knowledge yet to be absorbed.
- I believe that I am acquiring a good working relationship with colleagues, partners from other organisations and members of the public.
- I have been involved, with others, as a councillor and in my voluntary capacity in bringing about change for the better in Denton South.
- We have helped Haughton Green Playing Fields win a Green Pennant,
- We have had a new centre built on the playing fields.
- We have had Multi Use Games Areas built on the playing fields and next to St. John Fisher RC Primary School, with a new one building near the Yew Tree Community Centre.
- We have had the Yew Tree Community Centre itself refurbished.
- And the Haughton Green Centre on Tatton Road is now a buzzing, busy place brought back from near dereliction a year or so ago.
Any other comments
- There is still much to be done, the ongoing improvement never finishes.
- One area, which is a constant problem, is anti social behaviour by a few people causing upset among the majority. This is something we must keep on tackling and trying to resolve.
