A professionally qualified Librarian and Teacher with a career in public libraries and schools.
Worked voluntary for over 30 years in the health service, both locally and nationally chairing numerous health committees and establishing committees for diabetes and maternity services in Tameside and Glossop.
A non-executive Director for 5 years for Tameside and Glossop Primary Care Trust and Community Health Council, member for 8 years.
Presently a member of Tameside and Glossop PCT Medicines Management Committee and Diabetes Strategy Group including patient lead on diabetes.
A key player for decades protecting the Green Belt around Stalybridge and Dukinfield from developers
