Formerly a refuse tip, the area was landscaped in the 1980s to provide a popular riverside walk along the Tame Valley.

The car park is level and surfaced in tarmac. A 40 metre compacted stone path with a gradient of 1:7 leads down from the car park past the farm to a wheelchair accessible stile. The path continues gently down to the River Tame where it turns left to Manchester Road and another wheelchair accessible stile after approximately 800 metres. The path is level and made of compacted stone. There are bench seats at regular intervals along the route.
