The Visitor Centre is managed in partnership between Tameside Council and the Hyde War Memorial Trust.
The car park is compacted stone and stone setts which are level. The centre is on one level and is fully accessible. There are seasonal displays and exhibitions about Werneth Low, leaflets, publications and souvenirs. Light refreshments are available. The centre is open afternoons on Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays throughout the year.
Apart from the services of the visitor centre there is a wealth of facilities in the grounds including an orchard containing many traditional fruit trees, the Lower Higham Herb Garden, the Croft Picnic Area and Wildflower Garden.
The whole area near the car park and visitor centre is generally level with only very gradual gradients in places. The Country Park itself has a mixture of steep and easy gradients. See under Werneth Low Country Park.
