Countryside Education Pack
Education Pack
Tameside Countryside Service
Over the years the work of Tameside Council's Countryside Service with schools has developed into an extensive programme of activities with a cross-curricular foundation.
We aim to help children explore the environment, fostering a greater care for and understanding of the countryside.
Whether it be an 'animal talk' in school, or 'river study session' at a local site, our staff will tailor all activities to meet the needs of your group.
This pack has been produced to help teachers plan a class activity in the local countryside, and, with the help of practical guides, have the confidence to run their own teacher-led school visit if they choose.
The pack includes

- Information on the visitor centres, their facilities, and other sites suitable for a huge range of class activities.
- Practical guides
Designed to help you plan and organise your own class activities in the countryside with helpful advice, suggestions for suitable sites, and equipment loan. - Work/activity sheets
