Everyone is welcome to join us. Please make sure you bring a packed lunch and drink on all day walks.  Please wear strong footwear and waterproof clothes.

Country Christmas
‘Deck the Halls’ by making a seasonal wreath and tree decorations, all from natural materials. Donations towards materials.

Moors and Mince Pies 
Join Paul Nethercott on a very strenuous 9 mile walk in the countryside around Carrbrook, finishing with alfresco mince pies.
No dogs allowed as we will be going on open access land.
10am @ Castle Clough car park, Buckton Vale Rd, Carrbrook, Stalybridge, SK15 3PJ.

Winter Solstice Celebration
Shortest day, longest night, help the rangers call back the sun on this 4 mile early morning walk up to Hartshead Pike.
7.15am – 10.15am @ Park Bridge Heritage Centre, The Stables, Park Bridge, Ashton under Lyne OL6 8AQ.

New Year’s Day Walk
Start the New Year by resolving to enjoy this 10 mile ramble taking in some of the high spots of Tameside. Lunch stop at The Wharf Tavern, Stalybridge where meat and potato pie and veg. option will be available (£5.00)

Highs and Lows
Join Norman Bamforth on an eight mile ramble around Werneth Low.  Norman’s recollections along the route include his first visit to Werneth Low on the much loved 210 Trolley Bus from Audenshaw.

Millbrook Moorland Edge
Discover the moorland around Millbrook on a moderate 3 mile walk with Paul Nethercott.

Portrait of Werneth Low
A short stroll around Lower Higham and Werneth Low looking at what makes this place so special. A great family walk.

Ramble to Rowarth
Join John and Margaret Morrison on this moderate 10 mile walk over the hill to Rowarth. Enjoy extensive views over Tameside, Kinder Scout and the Cheshire Plain.

Find the longest, shortest, oldest and other historical facts on a two mile walk with Paul Nethercott.

Rome on the Low XXV
Join Maximus Bamforth on the 25th anniversary of his popular walk  Take a four mile stroll back through the ages to a time when Imperial Rome governed Werneth Low and Tameside with a hand of iron.

Etherow Classic
Join John and Margaret Morrison on this 10 mile walk to Compstall and back with hills, woods, rivers, lows and beautiful views.

Three Parks Link Walk
An 11 moderate mile walk with Paul Nethercott linking Stamford, Cheetham and Stalybridge Country parks.
10am @ Staley Way car park, Huddersfield Road, Stalybridge, SK15 2QA. 

Easter Sunday 16  

Easter Egg Hunt
An egg – stravaganza for younger children. As well as the hunt there will be competitions for best dressed Easter egg and bonnet.
1pm - 3pm @ Lower Higham Visitor Centre. Higham Lane Gee Cross, Hyde.

Sunday 30 April                               

Chadkirk Chapel Ramble
A 10 mile walk across wild, windswept Werneth Low to the historic delights of Chadkirk Chapel and back via Etherow Country Park.
10am – 3.30pm @ Lower Higham Visitor Centre. Higham Lane Gee Cross, Hyde.
