2. Minutes of meeting Monday 14th January 2008 and any Matters arising
2.1 (Previous Minutes 6.2) DC noted the incorrect use of a street name Coronation Street and the need to change it to Corporation Street. CE
2.2 (Previous Minutes Appendix A, Items 12 and 13). Attention was drawn to the statement for the removal of Appendix 12 (M60/M67 crossings) and 13 (Higher Henry Street in Hyde). NG informed the forum that these 2 items cannot be taken forward at the present due to the pending TIF funding. CE
2.3 (Previous Minutes Appendix A, Item 7). DC expressed concerns at the new cycle map print run which he felt was inappropriate given the shortcomings of the maps themselves. CE informed the forum that the current maps were ordered and paid for in 2006/2007 but had been held up due to legal objections. In addition there is a high demand for these maps and they are normally printed for all the Greater Manchester Authorities in one block order.
All other minutes were approved as a correct record.
3. Presentation of Cycle Facilities Review report
3.1 The main item on the agenda for today’s meeting centred on a presentation by Brian Vaughan of Transdat Solutions. This is a review of Tameside Cycle Facilities and is based on a consultation exercise, route studies and meetings with stakeholders. At the conclusion of the presentation NG asked members to forward any comments and suggestions to the Cycle Officer by 7th July 2008. All
Cllr Doubleday stated that the Consultant would collate information and then prepare a draft report, to be sent to all members for comment. BV
There was a general consensus by forum members that we were headed in the right direction.
NG stated that the final strategy review will underpin the current draft Cycle Strategy and provide a long-term programme to meet the future needs of cyclists in the Borough.
