Many of you said

The press doesn’t portray young people fairly		We will keep telling good news stories about young people
You want more activities for teenagers		Much more on Friday and Saturday nights
Bullying is a big problem		Schools will carry on antibullying work getting young people much more involved in making their school communities friendly and safe
You would like more work experience		Schools and college diplomas for 14-19 year olds will help you with further study and work experience
The Council does not listen to what young people have to say		There are already ways young people can have a voice and find out what’s happening but we will create more opportunities

Some of you said

You had been affected by violence at home		Better services for young people and their families where there is domestic abuse
You started to smoke, drink or use drugs at an early age		More work in primary schools and get more young people to join in out of school activities
You do not feel safe in your neighbourhood, especially those of you who feel you have a learning difficulty or a disability of some kind		More activities, including Friday & Saturday nights to help stop anti-social behaviour
You had been victims of antisocial behaviour		We will train volunteers to work with young victims or witnesses of anti-social behaviour
A few of you had had sex and didn’t use contraception because you were drunk at the time		More 1-1 support for young people in schools and more to help young people understand the risks
