Item 1: Welcome

Julie welcomed everyone to the meeting and introductions were made around the table.

tem 2: Apologies

Apologies were received from Craig Stone, Sue Collins, Tina Wills, Anne Short, Pauline Daniels.

Item 3: Notes of last meeting and matter arising

Notes of the last meeting were agreed as a true record of the meeting.

Youth Online – Disability report now on line.

Julie and Jody from Policy Unity went into St Damians school with feedback from the Youth Online survey. The Young People are designing screen savers with the 4 key messages to be used on computers within the schools.

Item 4: Partnership Information Portal presentation

Lorraine Kitching gave a presentation around the use of PIP.
PIP is continually being update. Anyone working for health, local authority or the voluntary sector in Tameside can have access to it.

Item 5: Area Profile

Julie gave a presentation of the Area Profile.

Suggestions to be included in the presentation.

  • Unemployment for 16-19 year olds
  • Schools exclusions

NEET data is not yet available on PIP and school exclusions are only available for Tameside, not yet broken down into wards.

Item 6: Common Processes

2 CAFS completed for the area
2 Actions taken
No lead professionals identified
Very much the same as the other areas – still a problem with CAFs not being logged on JASPER

Item 7: Grow to Eat Project

Grant of £30,000 been awarded for community garden at Mossley Youth base called “grow & eat”

  • Youth base, Children’s Centre and local community members to benefit
  • Schools will have a piece of the land
  • Bring together the community
  • Part of the money to be used for training volunteers.
  • Fits in well with the intergenerational work and cook and eat sessions provided by the Children’s Centre.
  • 25th July is the launch date
  • Lorenzo from Mossley restaurant will give a cookery demonstration using vegetables as main ingredients
  • Andrew Nutter (celebrity chef) is going to do an interactive demo where a group will be taken to his restaurant in Rochdale.
  • Groundwork has been invited to tender for some of the training.

Item 8: ACMT Membership – the future

  • At present there is no secondary school rep – felt that it is important to have a rep to put the views of that sector. Julie has tried unsuccessfully to recruit a member.
  • A meeting is to be held next week to discuss the future of ACMT.

Action- Julie to notify members of the group who will be covering Stalybridge, Dukinfield & Mossley as from 1st August.

Item 9: Early Intervention

Events are planned next week to give staff the opportunity to find out more and have an opportunity to input. Hopefully these teams will be in place for September/October this year.

Karen – Weekend activities 10th & 11th July.
Bennet Street centre in Hyde is to have a beach football pitch for use by all.
