1. Welcome
Steve welcomed everyone to this first Enjoy and Achieve theme group meeting.
2. Apologies
Received from:
Caroline Gregory, Principal Neighbourhood Renewal Officer
3. Membership of the group
Steve asked everyone to introduce themselves and talk about which groups they link to.
SG asked whether the group thought there were any gaps within the membership of the group. Anybody wishing to join the group is welcome at anytime.
4. Outcome Sub themes
SN went through the terms of reference, which have been agreed by the Children & Young People’s Strategic Partnership (CYPSP).
SG did a presentation which set out all the outcome sub-themes from Every Child Matters, Local Priorities in the Children & Young People’s Plan (CYPP), the key area of improvement from the Area Performance Assessment (APA) 2006, targets from the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and a focus on the self assessed red areas of the health National Service Framework (NSF) standards.
The group was very clear that the task had to be much broader than the JAR inspection and we wanted all children and young people to Enjoy and Achieve.
5. How do we approach this?
There was a discussion re to how we go about this. The group suggested taking one or two areas per meeting and having small working groups exploring information, the same approach other outcome subgroups are taking. It was felt the group needed to look at the sub themes and key outcomes.
SG agreed that JB will send out the various documentation prior to the next meeting for group members to familiarise themselves with.
Action: Joanne to send out information on the sub themes and key outcomes.
Members of the group to read the documentation prior to the next meeting
6. Priorities & Reporting – 2007/8
SG informed the group that Enjoy and Achieve had to be reported to the CYPSP at the December 07 meeting and talked to the group about the report card format, which had been adopted by the CYPSP as a method of reporting.
Copies of completed report cards had been circulated with the agenda. The group needs to think about which area is the priority to be focused on first.
