Item 1: Welcome
Julie welcomed everyone to the meeting and introductions were made.

Item 3: Minutes from the last meeting and matters arising
JAR Self Assessment has now been published
Maurice stated that Item 7 should read “Pupils Attitude Self & School”
Item 4: Action Plan
Julie explained that these were the actions from the report cards based on the Key judgements and that she will be contacting the people named on the Action Plan to make the amendments.
A discussion took place around how report cards were put together and how the action plan was constructed. Julie explained that from the outcomes of the report cards she is required to produce a report for the SCYP Strategic Partnership and highlight any areas for action
The group has almost a full set of report cards.
S W said she would like to see a full set of report cards.
In response Julie said that she would email everyone the link to the webpage that would give access to the full set once complete.
Item 5: Future Meetings
Julie stated that we need to set some dates for the group as further meetings had not been decided.
Julie gave details of the new indicators and informed the group that the Area Coordinators were to meet to look at the changes to the to the indicators and where the indicators sit within the various Outcome Theme groups subjects - following this meeting Julie will report back to the team and invite discussions.
All the team agreed that there will be a very different focus for the group.
It was agreed that the meetings would be better on a bi-monthly basis.
Julie will consult with Claire to put a few dates together and email the team.
Item 6: Consultation timetable from September 08
Julie explained that this links in the Participation Project
A discussion took place regarding the consultation process and details were given of “Tell us” survey which takes place annually and the Youth Survey which takes place bi-annually.
The team felt that there may be duplication if too many surveys were conducted.
Julie suggested that Participation team go into the schools to update the young people.
Item 7: Civic representation – Children and Young People
Julie discussed young people’s role when at District Assembly meetings. It was felt that the young people were not fully included in the meetings.
Discussions had taken place with some of the town managers regarding the young people’s role and suggested that she work closely with the Town Managers and the elected members with regards to this issue.
Tina will explore other authorities to see how young people are involved – Tina will feedback to team – Agenda item for future meeting.
Item 8: Summary of Consultations
Julie thanked everyone who has given details for this report.
Julie stated that it is important for everyone to complete the template when they have completed a piece of consultation.
All team members present thought that this was a useful resource
Julie has the hard copies of the documents in a folder.
Item 9: AOB
Chris Thean asked for any suggestions for an “Away Day” around the themes of Ambition, Aspirations, Low skills, Low confidence, substance misuse.
The team suggested drama projects, shadowing workers in a field in which young people are interested, contact: Economic Wellbeing Group, contact: Michelle Farrell re Teenage pregnancy – raising aspirations.
