Matters Arising
Training Coaches - Anne Okwei was asked to report to the group on opportunities for young people with disability to undertake qualification to become training coaches.
Anne had spoken with Lyndsey Whiteside and confirmed that the training is tailored to the individual young person and that this has been undertaken in Samuel Laycock, Cromwell and occasionally in the mainstream schools. The training has been successful and Lyndsey and her team are always open/enthusiastic to respond to requests to organise training for any interested young person,
Water, Sanitation and Health – Tracy had received initial feedback from Estates showing 55% returns with only 5 from senior schools. They are going to chase up before half term break.
Action: Tracy to bring report to next meeting.
Chemical and Physical Hazards – Advertisements now being aired on national radio.
Strategic Health Group (A&E Information on attendances) – Pat said this was being taken forward – awaiting information from Judith Grigg.
Substance Misuse Needs Assessment – The Needs Assessment is expected to be in its first draft by the end of this week for submission to the NTA. It will be available for wider circulation soon after initial feedback from the NTA has been received.
Action: Geraldine to circulate document upon receipt.
Review of A&E Data – In discussion with Acute Trust on how they define categories.

Obesity Care Pathway – Ongoing work for 0-4 years.
Substance Misuse – Also looking at the whole family approach.
Pat informed the group that the Borough had a partnership strategy in place and recently recruited a partnership strategy manager.
4. Ofsted Well-being Consultation feedback
Adrian had pulled together a response from comments received from group members for consideration. The response would be from the group collectively and he would be submitting it on the 16th January.
5. Review of Outcome theme groups
5.1 Prompt questions
Pat gave a background to the group. The Area Coordinators had come up with a piece of work in the form of nine questions for the group to brainstorm. The replies would be collated and then going to CLT on 23rd February and then to the Partnership Board. The group worked on the questions.
5.2 Governance structure
Tracy asked the group to consider the draft proposal, looking closely at the groups listed at the end.
6. Review of Children & Young People Plan
The group was asked to review and set priorities for next year focusing on the 5 aims within the ECM Outcomes Framework and pulling together indicators.
Action: Put on Agenda for next meeting
7. Chlamydia Update
Sara Garratt had been invited to the meeting to present an update.
The current screening target is 17% of 15-24 year olds, which equates to 5,514 screens in a population of 38,000. Next year’s target would be 25%.
Sarah circulated the quarter 2 data with October and some unratified November data included and went through in detail.
Sara said she was looking for ideas/initiatives (short term) that would make an impact on the target figures before the year end. Road shows had been started in colleges this week (first one resulted in 54 screens).
Mathew informed that group that Branching Out had 7 young people trained as Health Trainers and they were the “first stop” to promote health services for young people.
The following suggestions were made:
- Advertising in colleges
- Postal kits for health visitors
- Targeting:
- Male football teams
- Health clubs
- Gyms
- Local Football clubs eg. Curzon Ashton
- Pubs/clubs
- Young people’s ‘disco’ at Glossop
Sara said she would check the ‘contact traced’ screens for information of percentage seeking treatment after positive result.
Action: Pat to follow up and report to next meeting.
8. Any other Business
Lilian Ponds circulated a poster advertising the Women’s Aquatic Event.
Action: Geraldine to circulate to group (see attached).
