Area Co-ordination Management Meeting

Item 1: Welcome

Ameena welcomed everyone to the meeting and introductions were made around the table.

Item 2: Apologies

 

Item 3: Notes of last meeting and matter arising

Notes of the last meeting were agreed as a true record of the meeting.

Item 4: Common Processes

  • Dip in figures in August
  • Raise in April

CAF snapshot

  • Paper versions of the PowerPoint presentation were distributed.
  • Ann Short – massive undertaking if taking on role of lead professional
  • Difficulty of getting health care to instigate CAF’s
  • P/A below 80%

Item 5: Area Intervention Teams

  • Community safety, SCYP report surrounding Sinead Brophy’s findings looked at how best fits in Tameside.
  • Report finalised by mid October
  • Wont be huge teams
  • Made up of secondments
  • Not static teams
  • Jim Taylor wants the teams in place by January 2010.
  • Looking at how teams will work
  • Information sharing to be a big part of these teams
  • Signposting families to appropriate agencies
  • Area intervention teams are in place in other authorities
  • No decisions as yet where teams will be based.

Item 6: Children and Young People’s Plan

Ameena gave a verbal presentation

  • The new plan to be in place April 2010 – covering 2010-2013
  • Strategic Plan for all partners
  • Set out how Every Child Matters outcomes will be delivered through all services.
  • 6 priorities

The group briefly went the list of questions aimed at managers, staff and volunteers.

Item 7: AOB

Craig Stone presented Connexions NEET data

  • Stats are produced each month
  • NEETs 16-18 – at present 9.8% which is above target level
  • At least 100 of the NEET’s are taking part in some activity
  • 5 E2E providers in Tameside – 4 in Ashton and 1 in Hyde
  • Trying to get some provision in Dukinfield/Stalybridge
  • Year 11 transition – following up all school leavers – September guarantee 98.5% left school in June 09 a place
  • Will be able to give feedback in mid October on school leavers
