Tracy welcomed everyone to the meeting

Minutes accepted as a true record.
Matters arising
- Tracy reported that she was returning to the PCT on the 1.12.09
- Tracy asked that group members present at the last meeting for the discussion to inform the refresh of the CYPP confirm that they are happy with the write up circulated so Tracy can forward it to Ameena

Item 4: Presentation – Children’s services provided by PCT
Penny King presented an overview of Children's services provided by NHS Tameside & Glossop giving particulars for the Ashton based teams.
Item 5: Common Processes
Tracy briefly went through the October 2009 JASPER stats were shared. Tracy also informed the group that Jane-Ann Birkitt had now left and that any queries or requests for support should now be directed to David Hoyle
Item 6: Area Intervention Teams
- Feedback from a workshop held on 10.11.09 was provided by Pam Chadwick, Annie O’Mally and Penny King
- The now published report provided by Sinead Brophy is available on a especially created page of the CYPSP website at www.tameside.gov.uk/cypp/earlyintervention.
- A detailed specification for the teams has been worked up and is out for consultation – this can be found at the web address above.
- Tracy reported on a discussion held with Claire Bibby and the other Area Coordinators about the specification. A discussion ensued and all teams were advised to take up the discussion with their teams and feed the comments and questions back before the closing date of the 30th November.
- Tracy agreed to feedback the comments of the meeting – focussing on the issues of the implementation timescale, the focus of the team and the need to engage schools more widely

Item 7 Obesity Care Pathway
Tracy provided the group with an overview of the work that has been going on in the Ashton Area to roll out the obesity care pathways. The key elements will be
- Brief intervention and Broaching the issue training for all practitioners and workers in the voluntary sector who would like it
- A quick reference resource for practitioners to ensure they are equipped to ‘manage’ children, young people and families with weight issues
- A detailed resource available through the Family Information Service which will support practitioners to signpost children, young people and families into appropriate activities to help them achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
Item 8 Connexions Data
Annie O’Malley talked to the updated Connexion’s data and explained some of the challenges that the service had and some of the initiatives in place to help ensure the harder to reach young people were able to be accessed and provided with the information they needed.
Item 9: Any Other Business
Tracy promoted an open day to be held at Vision First (the resource centre for people with a visual impairment) on Wilshaw Lane in Ashton on 2.12.09 10.00 – 3.00pm
Tracy reported that Sue Warburton had sent an email reporting another head teacher would be representing the primary schools on the group in the future. Tracy had up dated her on the position with regard to the future of the group.

No further meetings have been arranged but contact details will be kept on record so that, if in the future the group needed to be reconstituted or a new group with similar membership was needed members would be contacted.
