Tameside Domestic Violence Forum
We recognise that one agency cannot fully address the range of problems created by Domestic Violence.
As well as legal advice, victims of abuse may seek help for their children, the people they care for, pets, and need advice on issues of personal safety, health, housing, finance and welfare rights. It maybe people working with the children of victims who become aware of the problem and need to offer support.
This means people working in a range of services and organisations, including community and voluntary groups, need to be aware of what to do when they come into contact with Domestic Violence.
The Domestic Violence Forum brings together a number of key agencies to work together on domestic abuse, to reduce its incidence, to help the victims and to look at preventative work. Tameside's local community and voluntary sector is represented as victims often turn to non-statutory agencies for help. The Domestic Violence Forum is part of the Tameside Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.
