Will Wine and Roses become Cuts and Bruises?
Will Wine and Roses
Become Cuts and Bruises?
We all want a date to be romantic but sadly some of us experience violence in a dating relationship
abuse
violent arguments
physical attacks
sexual assaults
Don't let this happen to you!
- Trust your instincts: If a date makes you feel uncomfortable remove yourself from the situation.
- It's hard to think calmly about your safety if you are drunk
- If you leave a party, pub or club with someone you do not know well tell another person what you are doing. Ask a friend to call and make sure you arrived home safely
Dating Tips
- Before leaving, know the exact plans for the date.
- Make sure friends or your parents know where you are and what time you plan to get home.
- Let your date know that you are expected to call (from your land line) to tell that person when you get in.
- Take a charged mobile with you. Maybe arrange for a friend to phone you to check how you are
- Do not drink alcohol or limit yourself to 1-2 drinks
Dating and Drinking
Do not drink too much on a date as you cannot react safely under the influence of drink. Maybe drive to your date then you will have full control over the situation
Date Rape
Your drink could be spiked with drugs or alcohol, so someone can take advantage of you.
