Quality Team - Children's Centre's

The aim of Children’s Centres is to improve outcomes for all children through partnership working, by bringing together a range of community based services to support children under five and their families. These will include services for education and childcare, health and Jobcentre Plus.

By 2010 every community will be served by a Children's Centre, ensuring that every child gets the best start in life whatever their background or circumstances.

Children's Centres are geographically based to meet the needs of the community and deliver services in welcoming, early years focused settings and existing community buildings.

A Children's Centre may offer a variety of sessions and activities such as stay and play sessions, baby groups, health care drop-ins, adult training opportunities, holiday activities and in some cases day care.
