Tameside Council’s Commitment to 10:10
10:10 is an ambitious project to unite every sector of British society behind one simple idea: that by working together we can achieve a 10% cut in the UK’s carbon emissions in 2010
UK Home Information Pack (HIP)
The UK Home Information Pack (HIP) is a mandatory survey called a home condition report produced by a home inspector and will be required before your property is advertised for sale. The Pack includes an Energy Performance Certificate, containing advice on how to cut carbon emissions and fuel bills. HIP's are being introduced on a phased basis and currently all 4 bedroom properties put up for sale require a report.
Insulating your Home
Insulating your home may not be as expensive as you think, and there are many grants currently available to help you - several of which will provide 100% funding if you qualify under the rules of the scheme.
Claim £75 off your Council Tax by Insulating your Home
Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council are working in partnership with Hillserve and British Gas to provide residents with low cost cavity wall and loft insulation.
Tameside MBC is working with the Heat Project to provide grant assisted loft and cavity wall insulation In a poorly insulated property up to 35% of the heat produced by a central heating system is lost through the walls and a further 25% escapes through the roof. Why don't you take advantage of the grant assisted insulation you are entitled to and at the same time reduce your effect on climate change and your carbon footprint.
Claim your two free Energy Saving Light bulbs
If you recycle your waste, then complete the form found in your Council Tax mailing and take it to your nearest Library or Customer Service Centre to claim your 2 free low energy light bulbs. This offer is open to Tameside residents until stocks last.
