12. Tougher Enforcement - Lobby local government for wider environmental enforcement powers
Activity: The Council produced a paper to influence Local Government Association's lobbying of national Government for amendments to the Antisocial Behaviour Bill for greater environmental enforcement powers for Councils. Local Government Association currently lobbying Government Ministers to include Tameside amendments in the proposed Bill.
Progress: Tameside amendments have now been included in the Antisocial Behaviour Bill, including the following environmental enforcement clauses:

- Fixed Penalty Notices for Graffiti and Fly-tipping.
- Power to close licensed premises for excessive noise pollution
- The banning of sales of aerosol paints to under 18's.
