Tameside toasted its finest food outlets at the annual Food and Drink Awards.
For the first time this year members of the public were involved in the shortlisting process - almost 3000 people made nominations and voted for their favourite establishments on the council website.
BBC Radio Manchester Presenter Becky Want
compered the event, held at Ashton Town Hall on Thursday 1st October and Tameside Council Project Head for Heritage and Tourism Cllr Jackie Lane paid tribute to the quality and excellence of the food and drink produced and served in the borough.
Cllr Lane said: “We have been particularly pleased this year to be able to have involved local people in the process of deciding which establishments deserve special recognition. The response has been fantastic and certainly reflects the enthusiasm for what Tameside has to offer.”
The awards night was just one highlight of the week long festival which ran until 3rd October. For further details of events that took place at venues across the borough, see the Food and Drink Festival Events Calendar.
