Gas Safety

Gas systems and appliances must be kept in a safe condition so as to prevent the risk of injury to any person or damage to buildings. Gas systems that are in a defective condition may give risk to carbon monoxide poisoning or injury from explosion.

Gas heating systems, mobile gas heaters, cooking equipment, etc., must be checked for safety at least every 12 months. The check must be carried out by a Corgi registered gas fitter. You should keep a record of the following details:

  1. date of inspection and date of re-inspection.
  2. defects identified
  3. remedial action taken.
