Women's Health and Homelessness
Manchester Health Watchdog and Manchester Service User Network are working together to listen to your experiences and views on using health services in Manchester
What are your needs for a healthier lifestyle?
- Registering with a GP?
- Do you know what a Walk-in Centre is and where is the nearest one for you?
- Having information to make choices about your health?
- Where to go for contraception and advice on sexual health?
- Knowing how to access health services for your children?
- Do you know where to get advice if you are pregnant?
- Someone to talk to about your mental health?
- Would you like to be involved in having your say on health services?
All of the information collected will be kept confidential and you do not have to give us your name - a report will be produced with recommendations to Manchester Primary Care Trust who have the duty of care to provide health services to you
Manchester Health Watchdog
Manchester Health Watchdog is the city-wide Patient and Public Involvement Forum. It is a statutory body and is independent of the NHS with government powers to make a real difference. The Forum is made up of volunteers from the local community and come from many different areas across Manchester – Cheetham Hill, Levenshulme, Burnage, Chorlton, Whalley Range, Didsbury, Withington, Longsight, Newton Heath, Crumpsall, Fallowfield, Collyhurst, Hulme, and Brooklands.
Our Forum represents the experiences, comments and views of patients and the general public on health issues relating to Manchester Primary Care Trust and health services provided by other bodies.
Our work is based on the information gathered in the local community and is fed-back anonymously with recommendations for change to the Primary Care Trust and a host of other organisations such as Manchester City Council and the Healthcare Commission.
Members do this by attending community events and meetings, holding information stalls, carrying out questionnaires and surveys, talking to people at supermarkets, visiting GP practices, hospitals and other health buildings, posting letters in the local newspapers and appearing on local radio stations. We also use FREEPOST comment cards which enable people to send in their experiences and views directly to the Forum.
