Picture of Hyde Town Hall

Hyde Town Hall decorated for the Coronation of Edward VII in 1902

Hyde Town Hall was opened on 27th June 1885.

The architect was J.W. Beaumont who had won a competition between six architects with his design for a building in "Queen Anne Revival" style which would cost less than £8,000 (the limit set by Hyde Borough Council which had been formed in 1881).
