Tameside in Bloom 2009

On Thursday 16th July Tameside welcomed the judges from North West in Bloom . Bill Blackledge and Trevor Leese toured the borough to evaluate our bid to retain our title for the fifth year in a row.

Tameside first entered North West in Bloom six years ago and in that time we have gone from strength to strength. We first won our category in 2005 and haven’t looked back. Along the way we have also been awarded the prestigious Clean Sweep Award twice, the Local Authority Environment Award and received a special commendation for Stamford Park.

In 2008 Tameside earned a place in the national Britain in Bloom  competition where we came second to Solihull. We are hoping that we will be nominated again to represent the North West in 2010.

We will find out on October 23rd if we have retained our regional title and been nominated to represent the North West in the 2010 Britain in Bloom competition.
