Tameside Horticultural Show
Tameside Horticultural Show
We are very excited this year to be producing the first Tameside wide horticultural show to be held since the mid-1970's. There will be classes for vegetables, dahlias, chrysanthemums, cut flowers, pot plants, bakery, photography and floral art. There are specific classes for children and schools, although both are welcome to enter in any of the classes.
There are a total of 85 classes in the show, ranging from the heaviest marrow to apple pies, but there is a common theme running throughout of the heritage of Tameside and the preservation of the environment.
The show will be held on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2008 at Stalybridge Civic Hall and will be open to the public on Saturday 6th September from 2.30pm - 6pm and on Sunday 7th September from 10am - 2pm. The Civic Mayor will present the prizes and trophies to the winners on Sunday afternoon.
The cafe will be open and there will be a brass band providing entertainment and a farmer's market.
An entry fee of 25p per entry, per class applies, and only two entries can be made per person, per class. Children are exempt from the entry fee. The deadline for entries is 3pm on Thursday 4th September 2008.
