Links with Other Authorities

Entry into the Britain in Bloom competition has opened a wide network to Tameside and the borough is able to take advantage of many opportunities for sharing tips and best practise both on planting and on judging. Although all the entries compete fiercely there is much friendship and goodwill between competitors.

Garstang

The Tameside in Bloom team visited Garstang in the Borough of Wyre in April 2005.

Nantwich

The Tameside in Bloom Team received a visit from Nantwich authority in June 2006.

Wrexham

In January 2007 the Tameside in Bloom team welcomed officers from Wrexham Council. Wrexham contacted Tameside MBC after deciding to enter Wales in Bloom. They contacted the Wales in Bloom committee for advice and were recommended to contact Tameside MBC as an example of a very professional entry.

Salford

In April 2007 the Tameside in Bloom team welcomed a delegation of garden managers from Salford City Council. The group were taken on a tour of projects in Stalybridge town centre and Stamford Park, and were particularly impressed by the display of tulips in the Stamford Park flower garden, which were reaching their peak in time for Tulip Sunday.
