Fax Service
Most of the libraries in Tameside offer a public fax service which allows you to send and receive faxes worldwide. You don't even need to know how to work a fax machine yourself; we will do it for you. In addition to sending and receiving your faxes, we are also able to send faxes between libraries in order to respond to your enquiries quickly. Please note that all enquiries are answered within the library's opening hours.
Sending a fax
Charges for sending a fax start from £1.50. The charge depends on the number of pages you wish to send and the country which you want to send the fax to. To find out more about costs and charges for faxing, please contact Tameside Libraries Information Service using the details below.
If you wish to send a fax, please make sure that you bring the correct fax number with you to the library, plus all the necessary dialling codes. In order for your fax to send, it had to pass through the fax machine. Therefore, please make sure that your fax is:
- On single-sided sheets
- Straight-edged and not crumpled.
- Clearly written, in black and white if possible.
Receiving a fax
The charge for receiving a fax through a library fax machine is 75p per set of 4 pages. For example, a fax which is one page long costs 75p to receive and a fax which is 5 pages long costs £1.50 to receive.
If you wish to receive a fax through a library fax machine, please contact the library first. They will need to take some contact details from you so that they can get in touch with you to let you know that your fax has arrived.
Our fax machines can receive faxes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. But please note, that you can only collect a fax when the library is open. Please see library opening times in Tameside
