Hyde Library
The refurbishment of Tameside's second flagship library.
January 2008 update: The refurbishment of Hyde Library is now complete transforming it into another flagship library. The library is modern, spacious, welcoming, open 6 days a week and there is something there for all ages.
What's on at the Library?
We have a programme of regular activities in the library:
- Time for a Rhyme sessions for parents and babies are held every Wednesday from 2 –2.30pm. The sessions are informal and fun and a great way to introduce your child to books.
- A Readers Group for adults meets on the first Monday of each month. Meetings are informal and a wide range of books are discussed. New members are always welcome.
- Additional events for children and adults are listed in the “Whats on guide” and in the Library.
Computers
The new Computer Learning Centre has 14 computers which are free for library members to use. There are also an additional 6 computers available in the main library. All our computers have Microsoft Office and Free Internet and Email facilities. We also have some Bangla word processing software available at Hyde Library.
Other Services
The reference library has study space, comfortable seating located near the newspapers and magazines and a selection of DVDs. Why not sit and read the newspapers whilst relaxing with a coffee or a cold drink from one of our newly installed machines.
