Learning opportunities for adults in Tameside Libraries

Learn at the Library

Throughout the year Tameside Libraries hold a variety of courses, workshops and learning sessions for Adults.

Computer Classes

In many of our libraries we run computer classes on a number of different topics that include: Computers for absolute beginners; internet and email; word processing; and online family history classes. Have a look at the computer classes listing to find out which courses are enrolling now.

General Classes & Workshops

In partnership with the WEA and other learning providers Libraries host a variety of 10 week courses. These have included: Confidence building; Painting and Drawing; Archives for Family History and English for Speakers of Other Languages. Private tutors also use our community rooms to run one off workshops on a variety of topics. These are advertised in the Library and on the Events Calendar.

1-2-1 Computer Sessions

Tameside Libraries run a Computer Buddies scheme for people with little or no previous computer experience. The scheme offers one to one training and will improve confidence using a PC. For more information visit the Computer Buddies page.

Learn in Libraries Week

Every May Tameside Libraries hold a focus week that offers free learning taster sessions. Look out for details in Libraries, on the Libraries website and on the Events Calendar.

Activities for Groups

Tameside Libraries offer a series of talks and events that are aimed at groups of between 10 - 25 people. These can either be organised community, educational and social groups or a number of friends getting together.
